Natalie Edwards

Natalie Edwards joined Trellis Literary in November 2021. Prior to that, she was at Janklow & Nesbit and Curtis Brown, Ltd.

In terms of fiction, she is looking for commercial, upmarket, and literary titles: stories of queerness and diaspora, hidden histories, workplace satires/sendups of #girlbosses, and anything that offers biting social commentary. In the nonfiction space, she is seeking hybrid memoirs that combine personal stories with research/reportage; narrative nonfiction; and cultural histories about music, film, art, and sports. Natalie holds a BA in English from Bowdoin College.

I’m particularly drawn to stories of diaspora and cultural/religious dissonance within families, which novels like Pachinko and The God of Small Things navigate so well, and I’m also looking for stories of queerness clashing with traditional tenets, like You Exist Too Much. My family is Armenian, so I feel a personal connection to Southwest Asia and the Middle East, but I’m eager to see work from writers of all Asian backgrounds.

Natalie is available for mentorship.
