Manpreet is Publishing Director of HQ Fiction, an imprint of HarperCollins, and is also part the HQ Creative Inclusion Lab team, the new imprint launched with June Sarpong OBE, which seeks out and nurtures new, unagented writers from underrepresented communities. Manpreet has previously worked at Transworld Publishers and Little, Brown Book Group, and has over 15 years of experience in the industry.
She currently edits and publishes a wide range of fiction for adults including book club, women’s fiction, crime, thriller, psychological suspense, and works with a range of bestselling authors including Sarah Morgan, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Louise Jensen and Nadine Matheson. She also publishes Kia Abdullah whose gritty courtroom drama, Truth Be Told, was shortlisted for The Diverse Book Awards, Luan Goldie, whose debut Nightingale Point was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction, and Louise Hare, author of This Lovely City, which was selected for the inaugural Between the Covers TV book club.
Manpreet believes that all voices belong in the commercial mainstream and is excited to work with writers and help them shape their novels. In particular she’s keen to meet writers who are shattering misconceptions and starting important conversations with their writing, as well as entertaining readers with page-turning stories. She is available for consultation, submission assessment and mentorship. You can follow her on Twitter and Instagram @ManpreetEditor.
