AISHA BUSHBY

Aisha was born in Bahrain and has lived in Kuwait, England and Canada. Now she mostly lives in the worlds of her children’s books.

Aisha was a contributing author in the Stripes anthology for BAME writers, A Change is Gonna Come, alongside writers including Patrice Lawrence, Tanya Byrne and Nikesh Shukla. The anthology was awarded a YA Book Prize Special Achievement Award. Aisha’s debut novel A Pocketful of Stars was long-listed for the Carnegie medal and shortlisted for the Branford Boase award. Aisha’s books are always full of heart and have a sprinkling of magic in them.

Agented and published authors are lucky enough to get support from the early stages of their projects right through to their finished draft. In mentoring authors Aisha hopes to offer the same support to those who don’t have an agent or editor on board yet. And it’s vitally important for her to continue to support authors from underrepresented backgrounds in publishing however she is able.

Aisha is happy to read children’s and young adult novels. She will be able to write a report on up to 10,000 words per month, and follow this up with a call to chat through edits and any questions you might have.
